This policy covers the ReadText (Text to Speech Reader) Chrome extension and this website. ReadText is made by MagicLabs in Bengaluru, India.

What the extension does with your data

ReadText reads aloud the text on the page you choose, inside your browser.
We do not collect, store or receive the text you read, the pages you visit, or any personal information.
Speech is produced by your browser's built-in text-to-speech. Your browser or operating system supplies the voices. Some of those voices are generated online by that provider, for example Google or Microsoft, under its own privacy policy.
Your settings, such as speed and voice, are saved locally in your browser.
The extension shows no ads and we do not sell or share data with anyone.

This website does not use cookies or analytics.

Age

ReadText's AI study features are built for college students and adults aged 18 and over.

Changes

If a future version of ReadText needs to process your text on a server, for example to explain a passage with AI, we will update this policy and ask for your permission in the extension before that happens.
